Alan Stammers– Senior Clerk
Alan Stammers has over 30 years’ experience as Senior Clerk at Five Paper. His comprehensive knowledge of chambers and understanding of each member’s practice means that he is ideally placed to offer guidance on the most appropriate barrister to handle your case.

 

Alan is ably assisted by an experienced and dedicated team of clerks, who provide a friendly, efficient and professional service. They are committed to ensuring that our clients’ needs are met and that our standards of service remain high. It is thanks to the skills and dedication of the clerking team that Five Paper has been awarded the Bar Council’s BARMARK®, which recognises good practice management.

 

Alan is a member of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks.

 

David Portch– Assistant Clerk
David began his clerking career in July 1998 at Old Square Chambers and then moved to 39 Essex Street. He joined Five Paper in August 2006.

David has an in-depth knowledge of each member’s practice and can identify the most appropriate barrister to deal with an instruction or brief.

 

In addition to assisting the Senior Clerk, David is responsible for the smooth running of our barristers’ practices and diaries. He will be happy to help if you have a query about fees.

 

Sarah Beale– Assistant Clerk
Sarah joined chambers in February 2005 from a firm of Solicitors in Rochester. Her main duties include listing in all divisions of the High Court and assisting with diary management. She also performs the vital role of keeping our practice management system up to date.
